About Weantinoge: Founded in 1965 as a nonprofit, public charity and regional land trust, Weantinoge is a guardian of natural and working lands, public recreation areas, and drinking water resources. As Connecticut’s largest land trust, Weantinoge permanently protects 10,000 acres (and growing) of vast, connected natural areas in Litchfield and northern Fairfield Counties.
The Midsummer Party is the leading source of funding for Weantinoge’s regional conservation work. Proceeds are used to support Weantinoge’s environmental mission, including the:
In 2013, Weantinoge was awarded an EPA Environmental Merit Award for its outstanding commitment to conserving the natural environment. In 2015, Weantinoge received accreditation for meeting the highest national standards for excellence and conservation permanence from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
